Guiding and Conservation has been offering fly fishing tuition now for over 15 years. Its founder and co-owner John A. Rippin, is a qualified fly fishing instructor in the disciplines of salmon and trout fishing.

Having caught his first trout on a fly at the age of three (yes, really!), he has continued to pursue his passion for fly fishing for the past 32 years. He has gained considerable experience over this time, guiding in a diverse range of locations - from the chalk streams of the UK, via crystal blue Icelandic rivers to the frozen salmon rivers of Russia.

He has a unique ability to teach the "mind set" of a fisherman - looking beyond the mechanics of fly casting, to the reasons why the techniques work, encouraging improvisation and experimentation on the part of the angler.

Each day focuses on the particular needs of the individual, whether learning how to cast for the first time, or simply perfecting your technique in a specific area.
